From the Telegraph U.K.:
Dale McAlpine was charged with causing “harassment, alarm or distress” after a homosexual police community support officer (PCSO) overheard him reciting a number of “sins” referred to in the Bible, including blasphemy, drunkenness and same sex relationships.
The 42-year-old Baptist, who has preached Christianity in Workington, Cumbria for years, said he did not mention homosexuality while delivering a sermon from the top of a stepladder, but admitted telling a passing shopper that he believed it went against the word of God.
If the Christians in England don’t protest massively over this–or worse yet, suggest that the guy really shouldn’t have said what the Bible plainly teaches–then they deserve every bit of censoring that they get.
Ditto American Christianity. Ditto traditional Jews. I do believe there’s an old saying about not speaking up when they came to take someone else away that applies here. If we are not prepared to both stand up for those being persecuted and risk persecution to speak the truth ourselves, we will be silenced one-by-one until there isn’t anyone with a voice left.
